Post a Job for Free

Publish a role at no cost and your verified employees refer candidates into it. No posting fee, no per-applicant charge, free applicant tracking.

What it costs to publish a role

Nothing. Publishing is free, there is no per-applicant fee, and there is no cap on postings you are later asked to pay to lift.

The hiring side of RefOpen is free by design, not as an introductory rate with a renewal date attached. You can post, receive applications and referrals, and run the whole pipeline without reaching a paywall.

The steps

Create an account and pick one of two paths: you are hiring for the company you work at, or you place candidates into roles at client companies. Name the organisation, your employer or your agency. Open the job form and fill in the title, description and requirements, then set the salary range, location and job type, which can be full-time, contract, freelance or internship. Preview it, and publish.

There is no card to enter and no sales call in the way. Once it is live it appears to candidates browsing that market, and applications land in the role's own pipeline.

You are reviewing a shortlist, not a slush pile

The point of posting here is what arrives. Alongside people who find the role and apply, the verified employees of your own company see it too, and any of them can refer a candidate into it, having already judged them worth putting their name to.

They are referring from a pool of 50,000+ professionals, not just from the handful of people they happen to know, so the channel keeps producing candidates rather than drying up after the first week.

So the pipeline you open is not hundreds of cold applications to wade through. It is a shorter list where a meaningful share have been vetted by someone on the inside, each with their profile, skills and resume attached.

What separates a posting that works from one that does not

Write the title the way a candidate would search for it. Internal grade names and invented titles are invisible, because nobody types them.

Put the salary range in. A range is the single most common reason a strong candidate does or does not open a posting, and leaving it out mostly filters out the people who have other options.

Be specific about the requirements that genuinely matter and drop the ones that do not. A list of twenty bullet points reads as a wish list and puts off exactly the candidates who read it carefully.

Say where the role sits and whether it is remote, hybrid or on-site, in those words. It is the second thing most candidates check.

After it is live

Applications and referrals arrive in the pipeline for that role, each candidate with their profile, skills and resume attached.

You move people through stages one at a time or in bulk, rate them, and leave notes that stay with the candidate. Every move is stamped with who made it and when, so a panel sharing a shortlist can see what was already decided.

The dashboard surfaces what needs attention rather than a total: applications nobody has opened, candidates with no activity for over a week, roles expiring within seven days, and postings live a week with nothing in them.

Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost to post a job on RefOpen?

It is free. There is no publishing fee, no per-applicant charge, and no posting limit you are asked to pay to lift.

Can I post freelance or contract roles?

Yes. A role can be full-time, contract, freelance or internship. You post under an organisation, either the company you work for or your recruitment agency, so name that when you sign up.

Can a recruitment agency post jobs for its clients?

Yes. Choose "We hire for other companies" when you sign up, name your agency, and post under it. Posting is free for agencies on the same terms as a direct employer, with no per-posting fee and no separate agency rate.

How long does it take to publish a role?

Once your account exists and the organisation is verified, publishing is a single form: title, description, requirements, salary range, location and job type. The role is visible to candidates as soon as it is published.

Where do applications go?

Into the pipeline for that role, with each candidate's profile, skills and resume attached. You move them through stages, rate them and leave notes, and every move records who made it and when.

Are candidates pre-screened?

Referred candidates are. A verified employee at your own company vouches for them before they reach you, so a meaningful share of your shortlist has already been filtered by a person on the inside.

Do I need to talk to sales first?

No. You can create an account and publish a role without contacting anyone, without a demo and without a card. partnerships@refopen.com exists for bulk posting and enterprise arrangements only.

Do I get applicant tracking with a free posting?

Yes. Free posting includes the pipeline: stages, bulk moves, ratings, notes and an audit trail. There is no separate recruitment software to buy on top.
